The Timeless Treasures of Luxor's West Bank"

Overview

The West Bank of Luxor is like stepping into the heart of ancient Egypt, where golden sands stretch toward rugged hills, and history seems to hum gently in the air. This side of the Nile was seen as the land of the dead by the ancient Egyptians, and today it holds some of the world’s most breathtaking archaeological treasures.

Nearby, the Valley of the Queens and the Tombs of the Nobles offer even more colorful glimpses into the past—telling stories not just of rulers, but of families, artisans, and daily life. Everything feels surprisingly intimate, as if the people behind these paintings might step out to greet you at any moment.

All across the West Bank, you’ll also find scattered wonders like the massive Colossi of Memnon, standing tall and silent in the fields, and hidden gems like the Ramesseum and the Temple of Medinet Habu, where you can often wander almost alone, feeling the stones whisper their ancient secrets.

Itinerary ;

 1-  Valley of the Queens;

The Valley of the Queens is a beautiful and historically important site in Egypt, located near Luxor, close to the more famous Valley of the Kings. It's where the wives (and some children) of pharaohs from the New Kingdom period (roughly 1550–1070 BCE) were buried..The Valley has over 90 tombs discovered so far, though not all are in great condition. Unlike the Valley of the Kings, the Valley of the Queens is smaller and more peaceful, tucked into a side valley in the desert cliffs.

  2- Deir el-Medina

  • Visit the village where the artisans who built the royal tombs lived.
  • The site includes small but vividly decorated tombs of the workers and a temple dedicated to Hathor.

 3-  Medinet Habu Temple

  • Explore the Mortuary Temple of Ramses III, one of the most underrated yet well-preserved temples in Luxor.
Lunchtime in Luxor – A Delicious Break in the Land of the Pharaohs

After a morning wandering through ancient temples and royal tombs, there's nothing better than sitting down to a hearty Egyptian lunch in Luxor. Whether it's a breezy riverside spot or a cozy local eatery, the food is always fresh, flavorful, and made with care.
